The Library at Mount Char

The Library at Mount Char - Scott Hawkins This telling is a little reminiscent of the 'Percy Jackson' series, in that the characters have "special abilities," but this is darker (in a Neil Gaiman-ish sort of way). It's not scary, but some parts might be a little revolting to some readers. I enjoyed it for its fantasy equivalent of whodunit. My high expectations, however, plateaued when the plot did, after its high point. It's a still a worthwhile read, which I'd give 3¾ stars.
