The legend of Merlin, Arthur, and the last days of Camelot is overlaid over a story in a contemporary setting, almost as template of 'parables' and lessons, and told as a mystery, no less. While I enjoyed the story, my default position was to treat the storyline as having two distinct and separate parts -- past and present. I enjoy Arthurian lore and have read a lot of books on them, and as such, on occasion in the story, had trouble reconciling the modern counterparts with the characters of yore -- the deficiency being mine alone.
