"I am simply a 'book drunkard'. Books have the same irresistable temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them." (L. M. Montgomery)
Two threads of story run in this book -- past and present, and their paths intertwine. As with the previous 5 books in this series, the author's plot development is spectacular. There are so many rich layers, many of them with an added subtle twist -- not unlike the surprise burst of taste found in a chocolate with a liquid center. (Best read in sequence -- at least books 4-6, as the characters form a sub-series).
