The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness

The Soul of an Octopus: A Surprising Exploration into the Wonder of Consciousness - Sy Montgomery I love natural history and learned quite a bit about octopuses in this book. I learned also that octopuses is the correct form of plural for this cephalopod. I say "octopi" -- which (I now know) is erroneous, because it is NOT from a Latin root (its origin is Greek), and so a plural form does not end with "i."

In this book, the author anthropomorphizes the octopuses she encounters, which to me, is not all that different from what a dog or cat owner does. The octopus clearly is intelligence, and exhibits what we could describe as moods, emotions, and even personality. This is as close I'd get to interacting with an octopus, and so, quite enjoyed this read.
